Three Unique Nashville Jewelry Artisans

December 7, 2014

by Alicia Searcy

Jewelry; the perfect gift to give that special friend or family member - and an even better gift to receive. Just in time for your holiday shopping, I want to introduce you to three very different, extremely talented local jewelry artisans that are sure to enthrall, enchant, and satisfy all your gift-giving needs.

MARGARET ELLIS JEWELRY

If the name sounds familiar, it should. Jewelry designer Margaret Ellis opened the shop in 1983 and Mclaine Richardson took over 30 years later.  Richardson is the one responsible for bringing us Amanda Valentine's Roman Holiday collection, and her own designs are truly beautiful. There is a simplicity of form that highlights the meticulous attention to detail and perfect - yes, perfect - execution. The pieces are clean and modern with lots of classic references. In short, they reflect Mclaine's personality. I got a  chance to shop the Holiday Sample Sale in person and was able to score the lovely necklace I'm wearing in these photos. The store will get it's own dedicated post in early 2015. In the meantime, locals can shop the Sample Sale online as well as at the studio until December 13th. If you're lucky you'll get to meet Mclaine's mother Connie Richardson, one of the founders of Nashville Fashion Week. Vivacious Connie is her daughter's biggest fan, and she and I a get along so well we might be dangerous together.
